DeckMemo

Terms & License

Effective September 30, 2026

Using the app

DeckMemo is licensed to you, not sold, under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the standard EULA). Your purchase is a one-time payment and covers DeckMemo on all your Apple devices signed in with the same Apple Account. There are no subscriptions or in-app purchases.

Your content

Everything you create in DeckMemo — cards, Memos, drawings, images and study history — belongs to you. It stays on your devices (and, if you turn on sync, in your own iCloud account), and you can export it at any time as a .deckmemo backup, a CSV file, or a file for Anki. Only share or import files with people you trust, and only add or import material you have the right to use.

Cards made with a chatbot

The AI tab (Create with AI) gives you a prompt to use with a chatbot of your choice, such as ChatGPT. You use that chatbot under its own terms and your own account; DeckMemo doesn't send it anything. Chatbots can make mistakes, so check cards they write before relying on them. ChatGPT is a trademark of OpenAI. DeckMemo is not made by, affiliated with or endorsed by OpenAI or any other chatbot company.

No warranty

DeckMemo is provided "as is". I work hard to protect your data, and the app writes a safety backup before any restore or erase, but please keep your own backups of work that matters. To the extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for lost data or study outcomes.

Source code and trademarks

Open-source and system components

DeckMemo contains no third-party code or fonts. It is built only with Apple's frameworks and system libraries (SwiftUI, SwiftData, CloudKit, PencilKit, Speech, Vision, VisionKit, WidgetKit, App Intents, User Notifications, Charts, CryptoKit, Compression and SQLite), which are covered by Apple's own terms. Anki, Quizlet and Noji are trademarks of their respective owners; DeckMemo is not affiliated with them and only reads files you choose to import.
